· Meet Karren Bartley
Owner & Founder
Karren founded Bartley Riding Academy over 40 years ago, bringing together her background as a teacher and her passion for horses and riding. Since then, she has spent years coaching riders of all ages and levels, while building Bartley into the Academy it is today.
With a wealth of experience riding, coaching, schooling and producing horses, Karren has developed an extensive knowledge of both horses and riders. She continues to enjoy passing this experience on to students and remains involved in coaching and supporting the Academy.
Karren is also still an active rider herself and currently competes her own horse in show jumping at Amateur Rider level.
· Meet Jessica Trow
Head Coach & Academy Manager
Jess has grown up around Bartley Riding Academy and today leads the day-to-day running and coaching of the business. With over 15 years of coaching experience and formal coach education, she works with riders of all ages and levels, helping them build confidence, improve their skills and work towards their individual goals.
A successful competitor herself, Jess currently competes in show jumping up to Pro-Am level (1.35m). Her wider riding background also includes eventing, dressage and show hunter, alongside extensive experience riding, schooling and working with a wide range of horses at different ages, stages and levels.
Jess is passionate about continuing to learn and develop her own knowledge, both as a rider and a coach. She brings this experience into her lessons, adapting her approach to suit each horse-and-rider combination.

Maximum 4–5 riders per class for personalised instruction and steady progress.
Train year-round in our 25×65 indoor and outdoor arenas.
Our Whitford facility offers indoor arena hire for riders, trainers and clinics, along with riding camps and selected lessons.
