I have run my own Riding School in Murphy’s Road, Flatbush for 29 years. Having moved to the new premises at 190 Whitford Park Road which opened Jan 2010. I started off as a teacher and discovered I could blend both my love for horses and teaching into one. Hence the Bartley Riding Academy began. I competed successfully at Pony Club level horse trails and Showjumping. I currently still compete and I am very involved in schooling young horses. I feel my experience with riding and handling horses give me an ever increasing knowledge to pass onto my students.

I started off my riding career at Pony Club at the age of 6. I continued on gaining certificates and represented Manukau District in Show Jumping and Eventing. I’ve followed my passion into Show Jumping which I still am competing in today. I’ve competed in Pony Show Jumping to Grand Prix level, Hack Show Hunter and currently follow the Show Jumping circuit with my current Show Jumper.
I am a qualified community coach and Grade One Level 4 Coach which I gained in 2009 at Kyrewood Equestrian Centre. I am experienced in teaching all ages and levels, from beginner to advanced on my horse or yours. I look forward to starting your journey to becoming a better more confident rider.
